President Dr. G.Abela's Official Visit to Zejtun

The official  visit of the President Dr. George Abela started on May 22^nd at the Local Council Premises. Dr. Abela was welcomed by the Mayor, Vice-Mayor, Local Councillors and staff members. After a short meeting, Dr. Abela was accompanied to the Parish Hall where he met various representatives of the NGO's of the locality.

The visit continued on Sunday 27^th with mass at the Zejtun Parish which was celebrated by Fr Eric Overand. Following mass, the President and his wife were treated to a light breakfast on the Church's parvis where they also met and talked to numerous residents.

President Abela than visited the premises of the Ghaqda Muzikali Beland as well as those of the Ghaqda Banda Zejtun. Mrs Abela visited Dar Nazareth and met the residents, family members and staff of the home.

Dr. Abela later inaugurated a new garden 'Gnien iz-Zghozija', a project which the Local Council has been working on for the past 4 years.

At the end of the ceremony, Dr. George Abela expressed his satisfaction at the warm welcome given by the Zejtun people.

Zejtun Mayor Joe Attard thanked the President and his wife for their visit.
