Zejtun Local Council Awarded Funds to Develop a Sustainable Local Strategic Plan

In a press conference held in San Niklaw Estates on Monday 24th May 2010 by Parliamentary Secretary Dr. Chris Said, Zejtun Local Council was confirmed as one of the eight beneficiaries for the implementation of Sustainable Local Strategic Plans financed by the Central Government. These plans were chosen from 22 different projects by a specialised board that held the project evaluation. The projects that were chosen include individual plans presented by Seven Local Councils; Zejtun, Ghajnsielem, Gharb, Kalkara, Kirkop, Mellieha and Rabat Malta as well as a Consortium composed of seven Local Councils ( Birkirkara, Santa Venera, Msida, Ta' Xbiex, Hal Lija, Hal Balzan and Iklin) in conjunction with the ‘Kullegg Santa Tereza' The strategic plans chosen have different aims and objectives, with project proposals concerning energy usage, environment, transport, culture, social inclusion, conservation & urban regeneration and waste management. |
